All puppies have a 1-year guarantee from the date of birth against the following genetic life-threatening illnesses: Epilepsy, hip and elbow dysplasia, Cushing’s disease, Addison’s disease, enlarged heart or severe heart murmur, and diabetes. NOT COVERED UNDER THIS GUARANTEE: any type of worms, parvo, coccidia, or giardia as these are not genetic. If the puppy is picked up on a Thursday, Friday, or Saturday then you have 5 days for the veterinarian to complete a well check and fecal sample. The date at the bottom of this page supplied during puppy pickup serves as the beginning of the 3 days or 5 days depending on the day of pickup. The puppy must be vaccinated and have records of vaccines given at the proper age intervals of 9wks, 12wks, 15wks, 6 months, and 1 year. The puppy must be current the vaccines of DHP, or DHLP, PARVO, RABIES, BORTELLA AND REGULAR DEWORMINGS. The puppy/dog also must be registered with AKC. The owner listed on the official AKC registration paper must be verified as the original owner as the Health Guarantee only applies to the original owner who purchased the puppy from the breeder. The puppy/dog must be neutered or spayed by 10 months of age for this Health Guarantee to be Valid. Validation

If the puppy purchased has any of the above listed genetic life-threatening illnesses, it must be documented by a veterinarian and presented to me (Carol Farmer) no longer than 1 week after the puppy’s initial veterinarian visit. Next, we must meet at the veterinarian of my choice for a second opinion at the puppy/Dog owner’s expense. At this exam, the veterinarian of my choice must verify the presented documentation from the original veterinarian through an exam, bloodwork, and/or X-rays. If the veterinarian of my choosing verifies that it is a life-threatening genetic illness that is listed above, and all the above guideline requirements have been met with documentation from the owner’s veterinarian then compensation will be as follows:

  • We will take the puppy/dog back with the documented life-threatening genetic health condition and the next upcoming litter at NO ADDITIONAL CHARGE. The next litter is defined as the next litter born after the return date of the original puppy with the life-threatening genetic health condition in this scenario. If the owner decides they do not want a puppy from the next litter, then no other reimbursement will be made on the breeder’s behalf.
  • The Owner may keep the puppy/dog with the documented life-threatening genetic health condition and pick a puppy from the next upcoming litter at NO CHARGE. The next litter is defined as the next litter born after the return date of the veterinarian visit at the veterinarian of my choosing in this scenario. If the owner decides they do not want a puppy from the next upcoming litter, then no other reimbursement will be made on the breeder’s behalf.
  • In the event the puppy/dog with the documented life-threatening genetic health condition is deceased during the 1st year of life from the date of birth and this death is related to a genetic life-threatening illness that is listed above, all of the guidelines listed above have been met with documentation, the genetic life-threatening condition is verified by a veterinarian and an autopsy is performed verifying the cause as one that is listed above, then the original owner listed on the AKC Registration papers may pick a puppy at NO CHARGE from the next upcoming litter and receive a total refund from the original purchase price of $100. The next upcoming litter is defined as the next litter after the puppy/dog date of death. If the owner decides they don’t want a puppy from the next litter, then no other reimbursement will be made on the breeder’s behalf. If for any reason the original purchaser can no longer keep the puppy/dog, I must be notified immediately. Under no condition, without my written consent, can the puppy/dog be given away or sold. By accepting a copy of this 1-year Health Guarantee with the breeder’s signature and date, I understand that I am accepting and agreeing with all the terms and conditions listed above. I also understand that I have my puppy/dog checked by a licensed veterinarian with a fecal sample completed within 3 days if the puppy is picked up on a Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, or Wednesday OR within 5 days if the puppy/dog was picked up on a Thursday, Friday, or Saturday. The date that is dated below serves at the starting date of the 3- or 5-day requirement.
